- Yma O Hyd
Pupils from Ynysgedwyn and Maesydderwen schools join the band to sing Dafydd Iwan's 'Yma O Hyd' at our concert on 8th April, 2011.
- Jimmy and the Birds on Fire
Singer/songwriter Pete Lawrie visited Ystradgynlais as part of his Welsh Weekend in April 2010 and we performed his track 'Jimmy and the Birds on Fire' at the Gorsedd Park.
- Everybody Needs Somebody
The band plays 'Everybody Needs Somebody' from the Blues Brothers at the National Eisteddfod in Bala on 1st August, 2009.
- Bandology
- Our performance of 'Bandology' at the National Eisteddfod in Cardiff on 2nd August, 2008.
- Christmas Carols
- There's nothing like a brass band at Christmas (well, we would say that, wouldn't we?) Here's a selection of Christmas carols played by the band at Tesco in Llansamlet on 12th December 2007. Featured carols are: "We Three Kings", "O Come All Ye Faithful", "It Was On A Starry Night", "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" and "Jingle Bells".
- Men of Harlech / Feelings
- The first part of Ystradgynlais Band's performance at the National Eisteddfod at Velindre on 4th August, 2006. The video features two pieces: 'Men of Harlech' and 'Feelings' (which starts at 3 minutes 30). The soloist on tenor horn is Catryn Lawrence and the band is conducted by Aled Hopton.
- Pinball Wizard / Meet the Flintstones
- Pinball Wizard and Meet the Flintstones from Ystradgynlais Band's performance at the National Eisteddfod in Felinheli on 6th August, 2005. Conducted by Angharad Morgan.
- Concierto De Aranjuez
Wyn Davies performs Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez on the flugel horn at the National Eisteddfod in Newport on 31st July, 2004. This was part of our competition winning programme and the band is conducted by Angharad Morgan.
- Disney Fantasy / I Wan'na Be Like You
On 7th February, 2003 the Band held its Centenary Concert at the Welfare Hall in Ystradgynlais. We chose this date as the earliest surviving record of the Band is a photograph from 1903, though the Band is really older than this!
Here, we play Disney Fantasy and 'I Wan'na Be Like You' from the Jungle Book. The soloist for I Wan'na Be Like You is Laurence Gray on Bass Trombone.
- If I Were Not Upon The Stage
Following the Band's promotion in 2002, we held a social evening at the Ynyscedwyn Arms in Ystradgynlais. After 5 minutes 'rehearsal', this is what the entertainment committee came up with! 'If I were not upon the stage' featuring Catryn as a policeman, Carwyn as a bowler, Wyn as an undertaker, Aled as a barman, Rhodri as a boxer (with a dangerous looking right hook), Emyr as an athlete and Emma as a miner! (The missing words in the first verse are 'a policeman I would be!)
- Love Shine A Light
- Ynysgedwyn and Cynlais schools perform 'Love Shine A Light' with the band at our concert in Ystradgynlais on February 2, 2001. The first verse is sung in Welsh.
- I Will Follow Him
- Penrhos and Ynysgedwyn schools sing 'I Will Follow Him' from the Whoopi Goldberg film 'Sister Act' with the Band at our Millennium Concert at the Ystradgynlais Welfare Hall on 4th February, 2000.
