Ystradgynlais Band - Friends and Supporters

Support the Band!

As we explain in our 'Join the Band' page, learning to play an instrument locally is more expensive than learning to drive a car!  Ystradgynlais is one of the poorest areas in Wales and the Band is committed to offering free membership, tuition and instrument use so that access to the world of music is not restricted to those with very deep pockets.

The Band is a registered charity and some of the fundraising initiatives highlighted on this page explain free ways that money can be raised for our cause...

Easysearch combines results from leading search providers.  One person serching 10 times a day would raise around £20 for us!  Why not bookmark our search page and use it for all of your search queries?

If you do any shopping online, the retailer would make a donation to the Band if you access their site through easyfundraising.  You don't pay a penny extra and there are often special discount codes available through the site.  All major retailers such as Tesco, ebay and Amazon participate.

Ystradgynlais Band - Just Text Giving Charity Donations

Vodafone's 'Just Text Giving' service allows you to donate to us by text message.  There's no charge to send the text message and Gift Aid can also be claimed on the donation, meaning that we can get £1.25 for every £1 that's donated.

To support us through the Text Giving service, simply text HORN00 (horn, zero, zero) followed by an amount of money (£1, £2, £5 or £10) to 70077.

Donations can also be made to the Band through PayPal using the 'Donate' button below.  You don't need your own paypal account to make a donation.

The Band is grateful for the support that we receive from members of the public, local supermarkets and the Con Club in Ystradgynlais while carolling over the Christmas period.  Anyone is welcome to join us as a collector in December or to join the Band's committee to help us to run the Band throughout the year.  In 2011, we launched our mobile cake stall.  This has proved very popular at local events.  Thanks to Christine and Caroline in particular for their efforts with this.
