The town of Ystradgynlais and many surrounding villages fall under the Welsh Assembly's Communities First initiative as the area is considered one of the most deprived parts of Wales.  With this in mind, the Band is committed to offering free access to both instruments and tuition and is registered with the Charities Commission - our charity number is 1046765.

There are lots of costs associated with running the Band so we have an active programme of fundraising, particularly around Christmas when we rely on the goodwill and generosity of local supermarkets, shoppers and town residents.

You can now raise money for the Band every time you search for something online!  Google may be conveniently situated in your browser window, but they have more than enough money already!  Use http://ypb.easysearch.org.uk/  instead and we will get a share of the ad revenue - and you still get your search results.  One person performing 10 searches a day will raise around £20 a year for the Band!

Easyfundraising (http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/ypb/) will also donate money to the band if you shop through their site.  Over 2000 stores are linked to this, including Tesco, Argos, Ebay and Amazon.  There are also links that will provide donations without the need to purchase anything. 

We also accept donations through Vodafone's 'Just Text Giving' facility.  Simply text HORN00 (HORN ZERO ZERO - no spaces) and an amount (eg HORN00 £5) to 70070.  The text is free and we receive 100% of the donation - Vodafone will even apply gift aid if possible.
